Load cells are load/force measuring transducers. These transducers are frequently used in academical research, laboratories, servo-test machines, hydraulic/mechanical actuators, silos, storage tanks. Pan-Cake load cells are preferred for high capacity (ton-f, kN level) load measurements. Both tension-compression & compression only versions are available. 

For analogue to digital conversion, these sensors should be used with 24-bit / 16-bit data acquisition systems which are as sensitive as the sensor.
